Meet our toastmaster and toastmadame

We are extremely delighted to introduce you to our dear toastmaster, Coca, and toastmadame, Franzi.

The two of them may get in touch with you (behind our backs 😉) with more information in the coming weeks - but you can also reach out to them, shall you have questions or ideas

For those of you wondering “What is a toastmaster”:

The masters of ceremonies, aka MCs, aka toastmaster play a vital role in any Swedish wedding. 

You non-Swedes may be wondering why??  They are officially responsible for announcing speeches during dinner, but often play a much broader role during to make sure the full wedding day runs smoothly and is the most fun! 

They will hence be your key point of contact for any questions or ideas you may have about how to make August 17th the most fun for all of us 🎉

Lucky for us, we are very fortunate to have two people in our life that not only excel in superior party planning skills, but also know us very well and bring an unparalleled amount of energy to any party. So, without further ado, let us introduce our toastmaster & toastmadame:

  • Oscar “Coca” Månsson

    If Coca was to be described as a movie title, it would probably be “the fast and the furious” not only because he gravitated to all fast-paced sports and it’s extremely competitive, but also because he’s an inspiring family man and friend!

    In high school I was a little intimidated by Coca because he skied (recklessly ;)) faster than anyone I’d seen and he was not afraid to pull out a guitar at house parties.

    Fast forward a few years we are both working in the US and our two first born sons are due to arrive around the same time. After hanging out as families we start connecting to dots and learn that Cocas wife, Tess, is cousins with the husband of Elena’s new German friend, Franzi, in Stockholm - who also just had a boy. The three families start hanging out and now 6 years laters, we all have 3 kids, in the same ages, and couldn’t have picked better people to go through this phase together. That’s also why we asked Coca to be Theo’s godfather ❤️

    We could not be happier to have such a caring, energetic, and knowledgeable person as Coca to help us create a fantastic wedding day!

  • Franziska "Franzi" Östergren

    On a sunny summer morning of 2018, fate introduced me to the closest thing to family that I’ve ever had found living abroad…. Franzi!!

    Having been born in Germany, spent her teenage years in Barcelona & met her (Swedish) husband while working in an English speaking place (Dublin), Franzi and I share many similarities in life… which made for the most amazing basis of a friendship that I am beyond thankful for.

    Having had 3 kids around the same time, having similar aspirations for our careers vs. personal life space, as well as having the same drink of choice, has only made that foundation stronger. As a result, it was a no-brainer to ask Franzi to be Oscar’s godmother.

    In summary, there are a a few reasons why Franzi makes for the perfect toastmadame:

    - She knows me and us as a family inside out ❤️

    - She excels in the spotlight (even if she doesn’t always seek it) 🌟

    - She can communicate with all of you - as she knows German, Spanish, English and Swedish 🗣️
